One of the most mysterious places

  • The Bermuda Triangle is a triangular region in the North Atlantic ocean roughly bounded by Miami, Cuba and Bermuda.
  • The Bermuda Triangle does not have exact boundaries (accidents have occurred even near the triangle).
  • The Bermuda Triangle is not shown on the world map.
  • The name “Bermuda Triangle” was given to that region in 1964 by Vincent Gaddis in his pulp magazine.
  • The deepest point in the Atlantic Ocean lies in the area of Bermuda triangle.
  • Roughly 50 ships and 20 airplanes are said to have mysteriously disappeared in the Bermuda triangle of which two of them involve U.S. Navy ships.

U.S. NAVY CARGO SHIP-CYCLOPS DISAPPEARED

In March 1918, Cyclops, a 542 foot ship sank (near) between Barbados and the Chesapeake Bay.An extensive search was taken yet no wreckage or any crew member was ever found. There were no distress signals sent by the captain. The ship simply disappeared.

“Only God and the sea knows what happened to the ship.” said the U.S. 28th president Thomas Wilson.(later)

ANOTHER NAVY PLANE TO BE DISAPPEARED

In 1945, a ship carrying 5 navy bombers and 14 men left to practice bombing nearby some shoals. The flight, known as Flight 19, took off from Florida. The leader of the mission, Lieutenant Charles Taylor had faced some compass glitch because of which the five planes wandered until their fuel exhausted and eventually they were dumped into the sea. The same day, 13 man crew rescue plane also vanished. Another extensive search proposed no evidence, no clues, and no output.

Though we have one clue: The leader of this mission was heard over the radio saying these words that do not give us much info but some.

“We are entering white water, nothing seems right. We don’t know where we are, the water is green, no white.”

POSSIBLE PROBABILITIES

  • Charles Berlitz, an American polyglot, language teacher and writer wrote in his book — ‘The Bermuda Triangle’ his theories on Atlantis, the lost city.Since then writers believe on the reason for Bermuda to be aliens, sea monsters or the residents of Atlantis.
  • Whereas the writers that believe in more scientific theories write that the magnetic poles of the earth meet at the bermuda. There are also beliefs like waterspouts and eruptions of methane gas underwater (But these theories do not answer the questions based on the disappearance of the ships and planes therefore they are false).
  • Lieutenant Charles Taylor was not a responsible navigator. There are times Taylor had to be rescued from mid-oceans because he navigated the ships wrong. So, there is a possibility that he might have navigated the planes wrong as well and ended up somewhere else. But again, it cannot be the cause for their complete disappearance plus the vanishing of the searching planes.

In all probabilities, however, there is no single theory that solves the mystery.

JUST FOR INFO

ATLANTIS

In the Atlantic ocean, a mythical island named-Atlantis or Atlantica existed between Africa and the Strait of Gibraltar. It is believed to be a very rich island or the island of Gods. The princes here had conquered many lands and therefore became wicked and started believing in atheism. The land eventually sank due to an earthquake.

4 CASES THAT ARE ENTITLED ’CAUSE UNKNOWN’

1. Mary Celeste

This ship carrying the family of Captain Benjamin Briggs and 4 other crew members was found stranded for several days after the starting of the journey from NY to Italy. The crew of the ship were never found.

2. Ellen Austin

In 1880, Ellen Austin sailed towards NY when the crew members saw a stranded ship without crew. They got hold of the ship and transported some of its crew on that stranded ship but lost it in a hurricane. The crew of ellen found that ship again but their crew on that ship had vanished. Again some crew went in that ship to head it towards NY but once more that ship got lost by thick fog and it was never ever found again.

3. Carroll A. Deering

In Jan, 1921 Carrol was found shipwrecked near this triangle with no crew. This is an exception because the personal belongings of the crew and objects like navigational equipment, diaries and life rafts were also gone.

4. Witchcraft

In 1967, captain Dan Burack and his friend, Father Patrick Horgan left Miami to see the Christmas lights by sea view, however, the cap called the coast guard not far from a mile stating that his ship had hit something but not much damage occurred. The guard set off at once. It took him not more than 20 mins to reach where he was called but strangely found nothing but sea. It did not even seem that there might have been a luxury yacht there before. That yacht never even returned. Again that yacht just disappeared.

WHAT IS NOT KNOWN ABOUT THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE:

  • The correct number of the vanished ships is unknown.Though there are assumptions that about 50 ships and 20 planes have disappeared.
  • The wreckage of ships and planes that had been reported were never found.
  • The real reason for the Bermuda Triangle is not known.

WHAT WE DO KNOW ABOUT THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE:

  • The coast guard does not recognize the existence of the so-called Bermuda triangle as a geographic area of specific hazard for planes and ships.
  • The last case of a plane and a ship disappearance was in 2017 and 2015.
  • Now many flights and ships pass through this area but nothing really happens to them.

In all my research I have found only limited sources. Now the Bermuda triangle is one of the daily busy routes both by water and by air. Now no ships or planes go missing but the question still arises : ‘why those ships went missing? And where did they go?’ I love to believe about the Atlanteans capturing the ships .Still another question pops, how did they catch hold of planes in that area? And about the probability that ‘all drivers were bad navigators’ doesn’t work. And that the scientific belief of compass readings again doesn’t answer their complete disappearance of the ships. In all it’s just a MYSTERY…….
